Field Support Technician

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Organize and/or complete tasks generated from support requests (Claims, order,
          support services, troubleshooting, investigation and quotations)
  • Log support related topics into ERP system for tracking and follow-up
  • Coordinate efforts across organizational departments and divisions to provide
          excellent customer service experience
  • Interaction with customers
  • Coordinate, organize and document travel and travel expenses for yourself and
          collaborative employees
  • Investigate equipment failure to determine root cause and remedies
  • Equipment diagnosis in-house or at customer site
  • Facilitate training on Test-Fuchs equipment in-house or at customer site
  • Complete calibration of measurement channels of newly produced and customer
          owned Test Fuchs equipment and test stands
  • Participate in start-up and commissioning of produced products
  • Participate in installation of test stands at customer site
  • Timely prepare and submit working papers to facilitate timely invoicing
  • Handling the support ticket from initial request to settlement
  • Handling a request as responsible contact person from its beginning through invoicing
  • Performing activities as Subprocess Owner of process “Perform Maintenance” for
          TEST-FUCHS and third-party products (tasks, responsibility, authority according to
          function description "Subprocess Owner”)
  • Planning and coordinating maintenance tasks and monitoring of target time compliance
  • Regularly communicating with group leaders and employees in order to ensure an
          uninterrupted workflow
  • Controlling and continued developing of the 24/7 Support Service
  • Driving the continued development with respect to planning and processing of Field
          Service activities together with line management
  • Continued developing of the knowledge-management-system with respect to already
          solved maintenance topics
  • Participating in product development/production in order to ensure that products can
          be maintained after shipment
  • Training and fostering of other new employees in the support department and
          collaborative departments

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Degree in technical field or applied technology is a preferred.
  • Sufficient experience to demonstrate troubleshooting ability of fluid, electrical and/
          or mechanical systems
  • Ability to interpret electrical, mechanical and fluid schematics
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally (up to 40%)
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to perform shop math
  • Experience with automated test, measurement, and control equipment is a plus
