PLC Engineer

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Creating PLC programs
  • Creating and implementing HMI concepts
  • Designing measurement circuits, forward and closed control loops
  • Supporting service requests from customers via remote control
  • Configuring of data interfaces
  • Traveling internationally
  • Collaborating with other engineering disciplines
  • Working with TEST-FUCHS Standard Software (TFSW)

Basic Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Electrical, Computer Science, or Software Engineering. Alternate industry
          experience may be considered with relevant employment history
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience utilizing software communications / protocols (Ethernet, Modbus TCP/IP,
          USB, SCPI, SPI, GPIB, RS232/422/485, CAN-Bus, Profibus, etc…)
  • Experience in PLC programming
  • Experience in PID tuning and designing closed loops
  • Experience with data acquisition systems
  • Knowledgeable about graphical programming (FUP), structured text (ST), and
          ladder logic (KUP)
  • Ability to interpret electrical and fluid schematics
  • Knowledgeable about computers and computer hardware
  • Experience with automated test, measurement, and control systems
  • Understanding test stand functionality

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with National Instruments TestStand
  • An understanding of basic electrical circuits
  • Skillful in troubleshooting and debugging software
  • Experience in mid to large-scale GUI applications
  • Experience in developing software that directly interacts, controls, and manipulates
          hardware components
  • Experience utilizing object oriented practices (C++, C#, Labview)
